The Safety Mate Gate is not a self-closing or self-locking gate. It requires a slight elevator of the door and an easy drib into the saddle lock.

he hardware does not have to be showtime. Information technology is such a small offset that it will not brand a difference, which is why information technology is not expressed in the instructions. Simply for the sake of technical accuracy, you may offset by a one-half-inch to account for that.

Needs constant adjustment
This gate requires a lot of adjustment during assembly, merely because the "hinge" and "latch" pieces are actually just threaded bolts held in identify by jam nuts, these things wiggle loose daily and crave constant adjustment - definitely continue a wrench or pliers on hand. It also looks unfinished, with all of the shiny hardware and aligning holes exposed (6 pieces of zinc hardware and 10 holes visible per side, just on the cantankerous bars). I have used meliorate quality gates that cost less than this, I definitely would not recommend it, a very disappointing purchase.

Bar spacing dimensions wrong
First of all, this came in a lot of pieces and was not great to put together. Second, the bar spacing is 3 inches, not 1.75 so my dog slipped right through. Frustrating as it took 6 days to make it instead of one-3 as well. Not stoked most it.

Great gate!
I love this gate. No more climbing over and there's no threshold to possibly trip over. 1 hand to open. But issue was at that place was i place where a hole for a commodities wasn't drilled, but no trouble. Grabbed my drill and drilled it myself.

Many pieces to assemble
Came in a box and had a lot of pieces to assemble, every slat had to exist put in- no biggie as this cuts down on packaging. One time assembled we decided to raise information technology a scrap so our true cat could easily go under it (lesser height we used viii inches). I beloved the expect, we needed the width and the ease of functionality however I'm not sure we are your "typical" users- our lab won't try to button on it or chew on information technology, its by and large to keep him in the kitchen dining area while nosotros are gone or at dark. It seems sturdy when properly latched which we don't apply typically either.

Pet gate heaven!
Super Easy associates. Sturdy and super cute. Great for the bottom of the stairs with an piece of cake one handed lock and unlock. No pinch areas and then adept for kids too!

Not what I expected
Gate arrived in a 3 x iv 1/2 x 28" box requiring full assembly! 16 pieces plus a bag of hardware. Took forever to arrive fifty-fifty showing "in stock" in the listing. At present I have to endeavor to put it together. not happy with this purchase.

Love the style but cloth was disappointing
I love this gate now that information technology is set up. Just between the bloated wood making the screws likewise pocket-size to fit and the bones wall screws breaking in the wall from how fragile they are it became frustrating to install.

love the look
I love blue, and then this worked out great for me. Nevertheless the instructions were vague. I take it set upward at the bottom of my stairs to keep my 2 doggos seperate because they go into fight manner if the 'downstairs' dog goes upstairs into the others territory and vise versa. It does the job and fits my decor.
